Circularity design of power transformers

This paper firstly presents the life cycle assessment results of a 63 MVA power transformer, with a focus on materials impact. Then it explains the European requirements defined in the eco-design regulation for transformers and presents the status of the on-going revision. Finally, circular efficiency is discussed, dealing with material efficiency, life time extension through oil monitoring, durability and end of life management.
